TheWaffleKing
No GoT thread?? This is the greatest show on tv! George R.R. Martin's best-selling book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It's the depiction of two powerful families -- kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men -- playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, which was filmed in Northern Ireland and Malta. Quote Link to comment
Lady Mechanika
Thanks for starting this thread. ( I always meant to do it myself but never got round to it). *coughs* bits of it are filmed in my neck of the woods and one of my mates is an extra. Apparently he's off to write a 15 page backstory for the wiki of ice and fire about his character. Quote Link to comment
Lady Mechanika
I'm currently rereading the books and have just finished a clash of kings. Once I've gotten through the books, I want to start a marathon box set session. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7ta3hOUlug Love Jaqen and his voice, I squealed when he came back in season 5. "A man always pays his debts". A man should not keep a woman waiting. Quote Link to comment
Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted March 25, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted March 25, 2016 I love Game of Thrones. Read the books and watched the show, but I think I prefer the show. Sometimes, the books get a little bit... boring at times, especially when I'm reading about characters I don't care about (I'm looking at you, book 5). Quote Link to comment
Lady Mechanika
I do that too! I ended up skipping vast swathes of Jon Snow chapters because I couldn't give a rat's behind about whatever was going on at the wall and with the wildings. IMO Tyrion and to a lesser extent Arya get the best of the bunch. Quote Link to comment
Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted May 17, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted May 17, 2016 Glad to see season 6 has picked up the pace. Past few seasons were so heavily restricted by George's verbose writing the seasons got boring. But since the book hasn't been finished yet, hurray for better plotting! I really hope there's more Jaime/Brienne but I fear they'll be squaring off against each other at the battle for Riverrun. Here's hoping Brienne sides with him. Don't care for Bran. He's boring. Looking forward to more White Walkers action! Lady Mechanika 1 Quote Link to comment
Lady Mechanika
I want more Dorne too. I was sad to see Prince Doran go, I thought he was one of the best written of Martins characters. And I'd have loved to see Alexander Siddig acting opposite Oberyn. Anyhow, here's my new bookmark which I'm a tiny bit in love with. Quote Link to comment
TheWaffleKing
How do you reckon it's all going to end? Quote Link to comment
Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted June 6, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted June 6, 2016 Gods, I hate what they're doing to Jaime's character. They're deviating so much from the books now. What happened to his season 3 development? If he doesn't tell Cersei to piss off and fails to be swayed by Brienne , I'm going to flip tables. Quote Link to comment

Kage
I absolutely adore GoT. I'm all caught up with the series and I am currently like halfway through A Feast for Crows. Quote Link to comment
Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted June 13, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted June 13, 2016 Theory time! Early in one of the seasons, it was said Cersei would lose all her children and be killed by her younger brother. Tommen is the last of the children to die, and Jaime will be the one to kill Cersei to stop her from becoming the Mad Queen (out of anger of losing Tommen she threatens to burn the entire city down). I'd say Brienne will end up putting Jaime down (maybe after a make out session? Hehe, thanks Bronn). As for the others... Jon or Sansa to kill Ramsay. Oh, and Rickon has to die too. And someone needs to tell Jaime Lancelot slept with Cersei too. Now for a rant... Why did they cut out the part in the book where Jaime hits someone for calling Brienne ugly? Goddammit. Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted July 18, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 I didn't wanna believe it, but it's true. Game of Thrones season 7 is going to be delayed and shortened : ( Article Quote Link to comment
TheWaffleKing
Good stuff. Quote Link to comment
Haytham Kenway
The show is good, and the plot is so complicated... how could a man even be able to put together such a story? Even though not all the books are out, I am sure that they have already been written down. About the 7th season... what a disappointment! They might change their minds about it, though. Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted July 31, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted July 31, 2016 I hear they are releasing season 7 a little later because they have to film it during the winter season in the northern hemisphere. Quote Link to comment

Haytham Kenway
I was watching again old good season 6 and realised... we've seen lo little of Daenerys this time! Also, I personally don't believe that R. Martin is having the writer's plot. With so much going on in his universe, he must have had the whole thing planned months ahead the release of the first season of the show! Quote Link to comment
RedFang
This is the best show on tv right now. Plot. Characters. Violence. Nudity. Fantasy. It's England's War of the Roses with magic. Laggy 1 Quote Link to comment
Guest Jojoyce
I don't like Game of Thrones there is too much sex and people are always killing and arguing. I prefer X-factor and Italia got talent. Quote Link to comment
Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted August 24, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted August 24, 2016 It's definitely not the show for everyone, and I think some seasons were a little bit... slow, but we're almost at the end now. What do you think of the split season idea? Quote Link to comment
