Victor
The Guardianship In the misty moonlight By the flickering firelight The gypsy wind takes flight through crystalline starlight 'Till the night when our blue moon comes Crying spirit whispers and hums Free your burdens as absinthe numbs Hear the harps and beating drums As our feathers swing and sway Specters moan from dusk 'till day They call to us from far away Tales of woe and fright they say We'll shun the eye that does betray This one night no evil is cast Our lives not branded to the past Find your clarity unsurpassed Live the light that will love and last Can you see me? With me you'll talk and dance No doubts to take a fleeting chance Eyes seek seductive glance Touch throws us into trance Your silky locks the winds will chase Your gentle lips a kiss will trace Enter the place where no one else can see Watch us dance, our souls are freeee This one night no evil is cast Our lives not branded to the past Find your clarity unsurpassed Live the light that will love and last AquilaTempestas 1 Quote Link to comment
Administrator AquilaTempestas Posted March 12 Administrator Report Share Posted March 12 Nice poem! I’m always in awe of people who can write poetry. What is the story behind this one? Quote Link to comment
Victor
Thank You! It stemmed from a nice, in-depth, conversation I had with someone about ancient customs. Her point was we often impose modern values to characters in ancient times. Maybe a couple of days later, I was sitting in a natural setting, as I often do, with a journal. I use a journal for jotting down my thoughts, feelings, ideas and other prompts. The conversation came to mind, and I wrote the core of it there in the journal. The next day I cleaned it up by counting syllables and putting it in a more musical form. Thank You for asking! Quote Link to comment
