What advice would you tell your younger self if you can turn back time?

This idea spawned out of a chat I had with a friend. While discussing life choices and current events, we often reminiscence what we could have done better to alter the future if we had known better at that time.

So, if you had a chance to turn back the clock and meet your younger self, what advice would you tell them?

He’s not worth the time. Not worth the stress. Not worth the tears. The sleepless nights. The anxiety. Don’t stress about someone who will never like you back.

Don’t become a doormat. Don’t just be nice to people because you want to avoid drama. If that person is emotionally draining you, walk away. Don’t look back.

Don’t change yourself to impress someone else.

You are allowed to feel sad. There is never any shame in feeling something and expressing that in a way you see fit.

Speak up. That's one of the things I regret not doing as a kid and because of it, I've had to deal with horror people or locked into inescapable situations. I've always been extremely passive and consequently, it allowed people to take advantage, reaping the rewards, and leaving me in the dust.

Take the plunge. You only live once after all. If there's something you really want to do despite everyone else going against it, follow your heart. You might succeed, you might fail, but the lesson is to learn from those experiences to shape the future. I've lost out on many opportunities because I listened to other people and in the end, I paid for it. Never again.

Don't follow people blindly even if you think 'it's the right thing to do'. In the end, it'll be just you versus them. I made this fatal mistake in uni and if I can turn back time to undo it all, I would. Sometimes, when you lack brain cells, try to grow some more.
